Place every suspect on an illustrated crime-scene floor plan. Each one has a single clue, and no two can share a row or column — solve the placement and the floor plan tells you who did it.
Mystery Sudoku replaces the numbers of a classic sudoku with the suspects from a murder case, and the grid with an illustrated floor plan of the crime scene. Every suspect has exactly one clue describing where they were — in a room, at or beside an object, diagonal to something, alone in a row, or alone in a column.
No two suspects can occupy the same row or column. Work through each clue, place every suspect in their one correct square, and submit the case — the completed floor plan reveals the killer, the method, and the location.
The current case, The Quiet Wing, is a six-suspect, 6×6 floor plan rated Easy — a fair place to start if you haven’t played a spatial deduction puzzle before.
Pick a suspect from the roster to see their clue.
Each suspect tells you a room, an object, or their position relative to another suspect.
Tap a cell to note a suspect, or press and hold to place them. No two suspects can share a row or column.
Place everyone correctly and the killer, method, and location are revealed.
Mystery Sudoku is a spatial logic puzzle: you place every suspect from a murder case onto an illustrated crime-scene floor plan. Each suspect has one clue describing where they were — in a room, at or beside an object, diagonal to something, in a row or column, or alone in a space. No two suspects can share a row or column, just like a classic sudoku, but the grid is a real house and the numbers are people.
Playing requires a Detective Club membership, which also unlocks all 240 MurdSearch cases and every Murder Mystery Case. Browsing the case library in your browser is always free.
A normal sudoku is numbers in a grid. Mystery Sudoku replaces the grid with an illustrated house, the numbers with named suspects, and the rules with real detective clues — so every completed puzzle also reveals a killer, a method, and a location.
